St. Malachy's is a Boys school under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishops of Dublin. Our school was opened in 1964 as the Catholic Parish of St. Monica's. Our first building was in the old Catholic Church in Raheny. In 1966 the school opened in Edenmore and had approximately 1100 pupils. Class size was a huge issue and our principal taught a class of 50 in those days. Thomas Grumley was amongst one of Mr O' Dúlainn pupils and to our delight he has returned to the school as our current caretaker. We have over 40 people working in our school so it is a very busy place. We have pupils from Edenmore, London, Nigeria, Belgian Congo(Zaire), Czech Republic , Russia and Burundi to name just a few. Our teaching team are from Ireland, Poland and Russia. So you can see it is a very exciting school to be part of during this ever changing world.
